Hope you all are enjoying your weekend. It has been a while since I reviewed any product on my blog, but I have been trying some new products recently and wanted to share it with you all.
Madam Glam is a relatively new US based company and is known for their nail paints. So, a few months back, a representative from their company contacted me to see if I was interested in reviewing some of their products and of course I was excited to try vegan and cruelty free makeup! They sent me two of their lipsticks and here’s my thoughts on them. Please know that this blog post is NOT sponsored in any way!
I wanted berry/red toned lipsticks to suit my skin tone and I received the shades Sophisticated Wine (#38) and Le Rouge (#138). Their lipsticks contain Helianthus Annuus (Sunflower) Seed Oil, Euphorbia Cerifera (Candelilla) Wax, Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea butter) which are all plant based ingredients! They have 17 lipstick shades (as of today) and come in shiny and matte finish. The packaging is quite simple and straight forward, nothing fancy. It’s a twist up black velvety lipstick case with the brand name on the cap and the shade name on the bottom of the lipstick. The cap does not have the harsh clicking sound on closing but does slow down to close in a subtle way (which I prefer). The lipstick bullet is quite compact which saves space in my makeup bag.

And here are some swatches on the back of my hand.
Sophisticated Wine is a beautiful pinkish berry shade that is appropriate for work/every day wear and can be flattering on a wide range of skin tones. Le Rouge, as the name suggests is a bright red (leaning towards orange red) and will suit light to medium skin tones. The swatch on their website does look darker than they are in person.
Both the lipsticks are moisturizing and creamy on application. You get instant pigment pay off with one swipe of the lipstick. The formula is also quite build-able. You can achieve lip looks ranging from a stained lip to a full-on pigmented lip (no natural lip coloring showing). The formula does not move around much and I did not have any issues with feathering around the lips. Throughout the day, the lipstick does wear off but leaves behind a stain (which I personally love). That being said, the stain is not drying on the lips. You know when some lipsticks wear off, they just tend to really dry out the lips.. well, this doesn’t do that!
It did not come off patchy either, it wore off pretty uniformly. However, you do have to touch-up after eating a meal though. The stain on its own is not enough to last the day (at least on my pigmented lips). So, I do re-apply after a meal which is true for most lipsticks.
Pictures: ‘Sophisticated Wine‘ on application and the wear off throughout the day (notice that the moisturizing effect/shine fades away but about 40-50% of the pigment stays put). Absolutely love this shade (on application and the stain that it leaves behind)!
Pictures: ‘Le Rouge‘ on application and the wear off throughout the day (notice that the moisturizing effect/shine fades away but about 40-50% of the pigment stays put). I am not crazy about this shade on application but love love the stain! 🙂
These lipsticks cost $15.95 and Madam Glam has been kind enough to share a 30% discount code for all my subscribers. $16 for a lipstick does sound expensive but then again the lipsticks do not contain any animal products and are cruelty free. Also, these lipsticks contain 4.5g of product in comparison with a traditional MAC lipstick containing 3g of lipstick for a higher price. So, these will last much longer.

- Decent wear time (4-5 hours without eating/sipping on a drink)
- Leaves behind a stain
- Moisturizing (for about 4 hours)
- Smooth application
- Good pigmentation (my experience is limited to these two shades)
- Does not feather outside the lip line
- Can settle into the lines of the lip
- Can be a bit drying towards the end of the day (when the moisturizing effect wears off)
- Slightly pricey
- Transfers onto food and drinks
- Old/Grandma’s lipstick smell (although it doesn’t have a scent once on the lips). I think this may be because they do not haven’t added any artificial fragrance to these lipsticks (which may be good in the long run).
Overall, I am very impressed with the lipsticks, especially considering its a new cosmetics company! I am looking forward to purchasing and testing more of their products.
I, for sure struggled when I went to the MAC store for purchasing lip liners. So many choices! Here’s some I picked that would suit Tan olive skin tones. The colors range from nudes to peach to pinks to orange to red to purple! There’s something for everybody. I hope this helps towards your next MAC store trip/online order. 😉
Today’s video is on lip swatches for various Maybelline lipstick collections. I hope this is helpful. For reference, I am an NC40-42 in MAC.
Hey, today I am sharing with you all my recent Ulta haul. I hope you enjoy. Most products are lip products and a few hair tools. If you are a lip junkie like I am, you’ll like the haul.
Hi Beauty addicts, today I feel excited to introduce you all to my favorite lip liner.. I have been wearing this very frequently for almost three months now..
Its the MAC lip pencil in ‘Half-Red’.. The name doesn’t quite fit with the shade.. Its just the perfect combination of brown and pink to make this beautiful mauve-y burgundy color that’s perfect for my pigmented lips and my NC40-42 skin tone.. I wear it on its own all over my lips or layer it with another lip product.. So, if you have similar skin tone this might be a good lip liner to try.. It retails for $15 and contains 1.45 g or 0.05 oz of product..
A lot of Indian brides wear this color because it looks so natural on NC40-42 skin tones.. It also lasts for a decent amount of time (few hours)..
Holla! Today I am presenting four of the Tarte LipSurgence lip tints… I have them in shades Exposed, Envy, Fiery and Lust.. Except for Lust that is a natural lip tint, all others are matte in finish.. These range from nudes to hot reds.. 😉
I love the minty, cooling feel of these on my lips.. They are also quite weightless or light on the lips.. Great for every day wear..
Here is how these shades appear on my pigmented lips..
My favorites are Envy and Fiery! For a full review, you can check out my earlier post http://beautylashes19.com/2013/10/28/tarte-lipsurgence-lip-tints/
Have a wonderful long weekend.. 🙂
After a couple of weeks of reviews on only MAC products, here’s my review on a Lip gloss by Armour.. I purchased this off of beautylish website to try.. Beautylish really has great customer service and they always have cute handwritten thank you notes with the package.. I really adore that.. I do not own anything from Armour brand and hence was skeptical before purchasing.. I have the shade #14 called ‘Diana’ ($21.00 USD)..
Description (Beautylish website) – “DIANA: Dusty rose opaque.. Sheer, nude and natural looking gloss.. An ode to Princess Diana and powerhouse singer Diana Ross..”
This lipgloss is quite opaque, creamy, non-sticky and goes on smoothly.. It is non-drying on the lips and keeps them hydrated for a few hours.. It reminds me of the glamour gloss lip glosses by Too faced ($17).. The color is a beautiful neutral pinky nude and I often pair it with peachy lipsticks.. I also use this gloss to tone down certain bright lipsticks.. I do not wear this gloss on its own since I have quite dark & pigmented lips and this gloss doesn’t cover my pigmentation..
Overall, I enjoy this lip gloss but I do not think its worth $21..
Here’s my relatively small collection of the Urban Decay Revolution lipsticks..
I have reviewed the Urban Decay revolution lipstick in ‘ F-bomb’.. You can find the full review at http://beautylashes19.com/2013/10/05/urban-decay-revolution-in-f-bomb/.. Since then, my love for these have grown and I have included 5 other shades to my collection.. 🙂
Top row L to R: Strip, Protest & Manic; Bottom row L to R: F-bomb, Venom & Shame
Top row L to R: Strip, Protest & Manic; Bottom row L to R: F-bomb, Venom & Shame
These are really creamy and moisturizing.. and I really love the color range & the pigmentation on these.. My favorites include Strip (the perfect nude lipstick for me), Manic (good every day color) and Shame (my favorite for winter)! I have noticed that the lighter shades have a shorter wear time ( 3-4 hours) than the deeper shades which last almost all day.. Certain shades such as Strip & Protest are exclusive to Urban Decay’ website.. All the other 20 shades are available at Sephora.com
I was super excited to try out the Baby lips moisturizing lip balm by Maybelline.. They cost about $4 and come in 6 colors/flavors..I chose to try the flavors Peppermint and Cherry Me.. Peppermint is translucent with no color and Cherry me is a red colored lip balm.. Both are quite sheer.. but I like ‘Cherry me’ for days I don’t wanna wear lipstick/lipstains or when I am just walking around the house.. I used peppermint almost every day under or over my lip products until I found the Jack Black lip balms!!.. Now, these stay unused for the most part..
Left: Cherry Me; Right: Peppermint
The website claims it to be 8 hour moisturizing, renewing formula.. They apply very smoothly onto lips and instantly my lips feel nourished.. These lip balms are very moisturizing, no doubt.. but I am not sure if it stays true to its 8-hour moisture claim.. It keeps my lips moisturized and supple for about 1-2 hours, not more.. I feel the need to reapply after that..
Overall, I like these lip balms for their price and relative effectiveness and would consider repurchasing them..
