IT Cosmetics Vitality lip blush hydrating lip gloss stain!

Hi! I hope you all had a relaxing, fun Memorial day weekend.. Hubby & I decided to go out of town and had a quiet & relaxing weekend in KY..

Today I am reviewing the Vitality lip blush hydrating lip gloss stain in ‘Inspiring Red’ by IT Cosmetics.. That’s probably one of the longest names I have seen for a lip gloss stain! 😉

It’s one of the lip stains with a glossy finish.. and as with all or most IT Cosmetics products, this one has anti-ageing benefits as well.. This lip gloss stain is available in three other shades.. Inspiring Red is the brightest and the deepest of the lot..

The product is contained in a glass tube with a doe foot applicator with almost a scoop-like depression on the applicator.. This dip in the applicator allows for product to stay in there and makes for easier application in one stroke (instead of re-dipping 2-3 times).. The applicator somehow has just enough product to completely fill my lips.. I really like that feature…

The texture is quite creamy… not sticky at all.. quite unlike most glosses.. The formula is quite moisturizing and it lasts for hours.. The pigmentation is quite good on these.. This particular shade has tiny flecks of red glitter in the bottle.. however, it does not feel gritty on the lips.. Also, this gloss does not settle into the fine lines on my lips.. a bonue!

As the gloss disappears over time, the stain remains and does not dry out my lips… It doesn’t cause peeling either.. I cannot detect any scent in this lip gloss which may be a bonus for those who are sensitive to scent..

The lip gloss starts off as a vibrant red that fades to a faint red to a pale bright pink.. It’s this pale bright pink that stays put as a stain.. So the color changes with wear time.. That’s something I am not a fan of.. I would like it to stay true to color.. Also, the color of the stain can vary depending on one’s natural undertones on the lips..

Here’s a lip swatch..

Overall, I think it’s a bit pricey at $24.. and I would consider it a luxury lip gloss stain.. It might be a good idea to buy it during sale.. It’s good for those who love wearing lip glosses on their own and have a special occasion coming up where you need the color to stay! I really love the feel and comfort of gloss stains on the lips.. if only, the stains were true to their color..

Tarte LipSurgence lip tint swatches…

Holla! Today I am presenting four of the Tarte LipSurgence lip tints… I have them in shades Exposed, Envy, Fiery and Lust.. Except for Lust that is a natural lip tint, all others are matte in finish.. These range from nudes to hot reds.. 😉

I love the minty, cooling feel of these on my lips.. They are also quite weightless or light on the lips.. Great for every day wear..

Here is how these shades appear on my pigmented lips..

My favorites are Envy and Fiery! For a full review, you can check out my earlier post http://beautylashes19.com/2013/10/28/tarte-lipsurgence-lip-tints/

Have a wonderful long weekend.. 🙂

Aishwarya rai inspired eye makeup..

Bollywood actress Aishwarya Rai has been my favorite since 1994! I used to (and still do occassionally) spend hours flipping through magazines and/or looking at her images in awe.. I truly admire her, primarily for her facial features and secondly for her personality & grace.. She has managed to maintain a private life despite being in the limelight of bollywood and constantly under the pressure as the most beautiful woman in the world.. I find her style quite chic and subtle.. and so is the case with her makeup..

Here, I am attempting to re-create this makeup look on Aishwarya Rai.. This image is a few years old and I am not sure what event this image was taken at.. However, her style is usually quite similar to this one.. Subtle eye makeup with golden, brown, pink tones and lot of eyeliner and kohl..

Here’s my take on her makeup..

  • Steps:

1. Apply an eye primer from lash line to brow bone.

2. Layer eyeshadows Matt lombardi, Lt bronze, Gold on the lid.

3. Mix Matt Garcia and Matt Rosen and apply to crease going all the way in. Blend out the edges with Matt Singh.

4. Fill in eyebrows. Add highlighter (Matt lombardi + Matt Malloy) to brow bone and blend harsh edges of crease color.

5. Line top and bottom waterline with Kohl pencil. Add champagne as highlighter (since the matt shades did not add enough punch).

6. Line top lash line with black gel liner (Illamasqua) and extend it out to create a subtle wing.. Add the leftover gel liner on brush to outer half of lower lashline.. Join this to the top winged out portion of the liner..

7. Go over the top and bottom liner with Black eyeshadow to increase intensity..

8. Add your favorite mascara and you’re all set.. 🙂

It was tricky to get the exact shades because in the original picture, there seems to be a golden/yellow light, especially on Aishwarya Rai… Also, I have adapted this look to suit my skin tone.. Hence, the differences in shades.. I hope you enjoyed this post.. Do let me know if there is any particular look you might want me to recreate.. Have a wonderful week ahead.. 🙂

NARS blush selection for tan skin..

Excited since my parents are joining me for my defense and graduation! Hope you all have been doing well and enjoying Spring while it lasts..

Today, I am presenting some NARS blushes that I have purchased keeping my skin tone in mind.. If you have similar skin tone as mine (NC 40-42 in MAC, NARS sheer glow mixture of Barcelona and Syracuse, MAC face & body C5), you might also enjoy these.. 🙂

Amongst these blushes, only Lokoum is a cream blush.. All the others are powder blushes.. I have swatched them heavy so you can appreciate the depth of the color.. Obviously, I do not add as much to my cheeks.. Also, with NARS blushes, it is important to have a really light hand, unless you are going for a clown face! These are very pigmented products..  NARS blushes are expensive ($30!) but the quality is really good and I feel one must try them at least once to really get a feel for their quality and pigmentation.. I hope this post helps some of you.. Thanks for reading.. I’ll see you guys next week.. 🙂
