Concealing Acne / breakouts / pimples

Concealing Acne / breakouts / pimples

Here’s my second video in the conceal Acne series. This time, I am focusing on concealing the mini mountains on our skin. Well, at least they feel that way. Every time I get an acne, all I can think of is how people I am interacting with are staring right at it! Of course its not true, but that’s how my¬†brain functions unfortunately. Anyway, onto concealing it.

With all the drying, harsh chemicals we use on acne to speed up the healing (disappearing) time, the skin around the acne gets quite dry and parched. So, the first and most important step (although counter intuitive) is to moisturize! Yes, you heard it right. Go ahead and moisturize your skin. If you skip this step, no amount of concealer is going to hide the acne since the dry flakes will always show through. It’s also a good idea to have some form of sun protection on, either in your moisturizer or on its own.

Once the skin is prep’ed, go ahead and apply a thin layer of foundation. Blend it well into your skin. Choose a concealer that matches your skin tone and apply it to the acne. Finally, set everything in place with some powder. Ta-da… Acne? What? Who? ūüėČ

Too Faced better than sex mascara – application

Today’s video is a step by step demonstration of me using my favorite mascara – the Too faced Better than sex mascara. I hope this is helpful incase you are thinking of purchasing this mascara. These are relatively expensive ($23) but I typically purchase these during the Sephora VIB sale and that saves me a couple of bucks on these ($18-$19).

Steps to conceal acne scars

Acne is quite a pain in the behind and is quite personal. Only individuals who suffer from some form of acne truly understand it. While there are various causes of acne, it almost always leaves behind a scar, which can take its own sweet time to disappear. So, it not only traumatic to deal with acne but also hiding the battle wounds aka acne scars.¬†So, today I wanted to¬†focus on covering acne scars. I also plan on doing another video where I’ll be talking about concealing active breakouts/acne. I hope this video is helpful to any of you going through¬†your own¬†battle. Just remember, you are not alone in this (this helps me). ūüôā¬†

GRWM – Night out with friends…

GRWM – Night out with friends…

Here’s my first GRWM post! I usually don’t end up filming these since I am in a constant rush to get ready and leave. It’s very unusual for me to have hours to get ready. So, I have no idea how people film these! This weekend I went out with hubby and some friends to a local Blues live music restaurant/bar. The music was soothing¬†and it’s always fun to watch¬†people dance (when high on booze). ūüėČ

Anyway, onto the makeup. I tried out a new foundation – Covergirl outlast stay fabulous foundation and I must say that I am impressed. It stayed put all night. It deserves a review of it’s own. I also used my IT cosmetics Naturally pretty palette to create quite a warm, neutral eye look.

Here’s how you can create this look. ¬†http://youtu.be/V8TK7xOR2Gs
